Fortune and Fame features at the Grand Order of Water Rats Annual Ball

Our author Jonathan Power and family were delighted to attend the star studded Grand Order of Water Rats Annual Ball on Saturday evening.

Several celebrities in attendance were pleased to hear of the fundraising initiatives for Velindre Cancer Centre and proudly signed a copy of the book.

The Grand Order of Water Rats is a celebrated, British entertainment industry fraternity and charitable organisation, based in London.

Royal Lancaster Hotel, London

Founded in 1889 by the music hall comedians Joe Elvin and Jack Lotto, the order is known for its high-profile membership and benevolent works ,primarily within the performing industries.

The charity raises money by organising shows, lunches, dinners and other events. to assist members of the theatrical profession, or their dependants, who, due to illness or old age are in need.

This year was a star-studded event after a four year hiatus, making 2023 certainly one to remember. Stars from all walks of the entertainment industry came together, united in a common cause to support those in need.

Our author, Jonathan Power is a regular attendee at charity functions, and an avid supporter of great causes:

"I support, and have attended, several Royal Variety Performance fundraising events that raise much needed funds for people who have fallen on hard times in the entertainment industry.
It's a cause close to my heart, as during my career I advised several entertainment stars, and also produced shows on the West End, and in the USA"
