Supporters of Fortune and Fame raised £1,000 in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre at a special night in Cardiff recently.
Friends, family and members of the Fortune and Fame team gathered at the Casablanca Club and Café in the heart of Cardiff Bay to help officially launch the book and raise vital funds for the Velindre charity.
An appreciative audience enjoyed a wonderful set from local musician Leighton Jones, star of The Voice, in the cozy, bistro atmosphere.
Author Jonathan Power was so pleased to generate funds from the book to help Velindre.
“I want to send a huge thank you too to my many supporters who dug deep into their pockets at the above event”
......he said after the function.
"Supporting this wonderful charity has been a key driver for me throughout this whole project. I hope to encourage my many friends from the world of sport and entertainment to also lend their support to Velindre.”
“It was really wonderful to welcome my oncologist Professor Mererid Evans and surgeon David Owens to the event, along with other members of the Velindre team.
Professor Evans added:
"The funds will help the charity support cancer patients and their families, enable the latest innovations in radiotherapy, and enable ground-breaking research that will make the cancer treatments of tomorrow better than they are today."
Jonathan concluded his thoughts on a wonderful night with some special words of thanks.
“My thanks also to Leanne Regan and the Casablanca staff. A special word also for my great friend Jonathan Richards of Jonathan Richards Financial Consultancy Limited, whose sponsorship of the evening helped make it such a wonderful occasion.”
Fortune and Fame is now on sale, with proceeds donated to Velindre Cancer Centre.
