JP Clients Still at the Top of the Tree!

It has been a busy time lately for two of Jonathan’s former clients, who continue to hold prominent positions in international sport.

Jonathan advised both Robert Page and Matthew Jones during their illustrious playing careers. Both won full international honours for Wales.

Page and Jones are very much the main men in Welsh football these days. Rob took Wales to the World Cup in Qatar and Matt is now in charge of the under 21 side.

Jonathan’s two former clients met the press recently to announce their squads ahead of forthcoming international fixtures for the two representative sides.

Page unveiled a new look senior Wales squad in the light of the recent retirements of Gareth Bale and others. Page also announced that Aaron Ramsey would skipper the side going forward.

There was no place in the squad for talented Cardiff City youngster Rubin Colwill. The gifted Bluebird has found first team action hard to come by at club level, and Page explained to the journalists assembled at St Fagans National Museum of History, what was expected of the young man from Neath, following his inclusion now in Jones’ Under 21 squad.

Our writer David Collins was at St Fagans along with other leading figures from the Welsh media. He spoke to the Wales boss about the Fortune and Fame project.

Page recalled the advice he had received from Jonathan during his playing days. He was keen to ask David for an update on Jonathan’s well-being following the author’s brush with cancer, which is described so emotionally in the book. The former Watford, Sheffield United and Cardiff City stopper was pleased to lend his support to our exciting project.

Jonathan said,

“I advised all my clients with impartiality and independence. I must admit though that, as a proud Welshman, it is a source of considerable pride to see two of my former clients at the very pinnacle of Welsh football.”

“Robert is doing a tremendous job in charge of the national team. I also recall Matt Jones with affection. I am sure he will do a great job bringing forward the next generation of Welsh international stars.”

Fortune and Fame is now on sale, with proceeds donated to Velindre Cancer Centre.
